The grab bar that secures the most dangerous corner in the bathroom

Getting in and out of the shower or bath is one of the riskiest moments for an elderly person or someone with reduced mobility. Corners, often bare and slippery, are areas where one instinctively seeks support. The corner grab bar transforms this weak point into a secure anchor point. Its L-shaped design fits corners perfectly, offering two 90° grip points: one for getting in, one for getting out.

Made from stainless steel with a non-slip surface, this bar supports up to 150 kg and can be installed both vertically and horizontally. Suitable for showers, baths, but also for toilets or any place requiring reliable support.

If you’re an elderly person wanting to remain independent

The fear of slipping in the bathroom is a real anxiety that can lead to limiting showers or asking for help with every move. With this corner grab bar, you regain the confidence to get in and out on your own. The dual grip provides continuous support throughout the entire movement: one hand always stays in contact with the bar, from start to finish.

If you have arthritis or reduced mobility

When hand, knee or hip joints are painful, every transfer becomes a challenge. The corner bar reduces strain on the joints by providing a stable leverage point. The non-slip coating ensures a firm grip, even with wet or soapy hands.

If you’re a carer adapting a loved one’s home

You’re looking for a simple, effective and discreet solution to make your parent’s bathroom safer. The corner bar installs in under 30 minutes (plugs and screws included) and blends into any bathroom thanks to its clean brushed steel design. It’s one of the most cost-effective pieces of equipment for preventing falls.

Pros and cons

✅ Pros

  • L-shaped design optimised for shower and bath corners
  • Dual 90° grip for continuous support
  • Stainless steel, corrosion and moisture resistant
  • Non-slip surface even when wet
  • Supports up to 150 kg
  • Easy installation, all fixings included

⚠️ Things to note

  • Requires a solid wall (concrete, brick, solid wood) — do not install on plasterboard without reinforcement
  • Check placement before drilling: once fixed, removal leaves holes

Our verdict on the corner grab bar

This is one of my favourite bathroom fittings for its versatility and value for money. At under £25, it provides immediate safety exactly where it’s needed most. The standout feature: the ability to install it both vertically and horizontally depending on the room layout. I recommend it alongside a standard straight grab bar and a shower stool for a fully secure bathroom.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of wall can it be installed on?

The bar must be fixed to a load-bearing wall or a reinforced partition (concrete, solid brick, solid wood). For plasterboard, use special cavity wall anchors. Never fix it into plaster alone without reinforcement, as it won’t hold under heavy load.

Can it be used outside the shower?

Yes, this bar is made from stainless steel and is moisture-resistant. It can be installed near the toilet, in a hallway, or beside the bed as a standing aid. Its versatility is a real asset.

What’s the difference from a standard straight grab bar?

The corner bar offers two 90° grip points, allowing continuous support throughout the entire entry/exit movement. A straight bar forces you to let go of one grip to find another. For shower corners, the L-shape is far more ergonomic.
